Yeah, I realise that, but I'm a bit uncertain about changing it back to stable and running an upgrade when it has been running unstable, which is why I mentioned that perhaps I should just re-install it and keep it on stable. On the other hand, since it's been running like this for a long time now, and only getting debian package upgrades during minor releases, maybe I'm running a fairly stable state machine right now after all. I have a laptop that is in a similar state, I think I will give that one a shot and see if making the same changes and switching it to stable will break anything during the upgrade, since it's not the end of the world if I need to re-install that one.If you accept that then you are upgrading to the unstable distribution as that is still in your sources.list you did not eliminate them all. The last point upgrade to my machines I did day or two ago on got about 40 packages. The differences I mentioned is between the testing and unstable. It will be about year from now when the testing is released as the new stable.
