Beginners Questions • [Installation] dpkg is rebboting my system

dpkg has its own log in /var/log.
What is the last entry in it before mentioned reboot?

"php-fpm' failed to start (exit status 1)"
From the console as root "systemctl start php7.4-fpm" is returning "Failed to start php7.4-fpm.service: Unit php7.4-fpm.service is masked."and "systemctl enable php7.4-fpm" reboots the system. Right after this the system starts a complete shutdown. It is probable not a php issue but something more generic.
I am (was?) in contact with the developer of the OMV installation script. He took a pretty agressive push back against my request to investigate and so far, refused to help, just telling than petitboot was the culprit and installing Armdian was the solution (or more a workaround for me). Installing Armdian requires to remove petitboot and differs to Hardkernel HC4 OMV installation instructions. I am still trying to convince the OMV guy to help but I am afraid our friendship will never happen.
