1) The facts (with citations) in that article are largely true.
2) The "conclusions" drawn from them are pure conjecture, as are the supposed motivations of the parties mentioned.
3) Techrights is a sensationalist rag, and generally spends more energy stirring ridiculous conspiracy theories than presenting news. Take what you read there with a truly monumental grain of salt.

A developer introduced a bug (as happens all the time). That developer also happens to do work for Microsoft. Techrights being the rag it is jumps on this as some kind of wild conspiracy, with lots of hyperbole, big pictures, and little substance.
Yawn.

For the record, I don't use systemd, and I don't like systemd... For a variety of primarily technical reasons not worth repeating here.
This kind of batshit-crazy conspiracy nonsense still pisses me off though, not least because it detracts from legitimate arguments for keeping multiple init systems viable and supported.

As for 'murican politics and the apparently irresistible urge to inject it into everything... I'm not 'murican, and I really don't care. Being constantly bombarded with nonsense one doesn't care about is however extremely annoying, so please stop.
